On 8 May, the Odivelas Exhibition Centre hosted the opening of the exhibition Metamorfoses: The Universe of Renato Rodyner, a unique show that delves into the vibrant and transformative language of the renowned Portuguese-Brazilian artist. From the private collection of architect and patron Luís Nóbrega, the exhibition brings together twenty emblematic works that span two decades of Rodyner’s creation, tracing a visual path where matter and spirit are transfigured into colour, movement and introspection.
From Brazil to the World
Born in Rio Grande do Sul, Renato Rodyner is internationally recognised for the expressive power of his work, which has already been exhibited in important museums and galleries on a global scale. The Metamorphoses exhibition presents the most intimate side of his artistic universe to the public, with pieces selected from more than fifty that make up the vast collection of Nóbrega, a name that stands out not only on the business scene, at the head of the Lemonfit chain of gyms, but also for his continued support of the fine arts in Portugal.
An artistic journey
The opening night was marked by a special musical moment with the Duo João Massano and Riko Dorileo, who performed live an unpublished composition entitled Metamorphosis, created especially for this occasion. The immersive and symbolic performance reinforced the sensory nature of the exhibition and its proposal to cross artistic languages.
On display until 1 June, Metamorfoses offers visitors a rare opportunity to come into contact with a work that transcends geographies and styles, challenging perceptions and evoking the constant mutation of being and looking in the contemporary world.
