In partnership with the Cœur Vert Foundation, Baobab Collection strengthens its commitment to reforestation and environmental preservation by promoting the planting of baobab trees in Côte d’Ivoire.
Travelling to the heart of Africa unveils the history of the majestic sacred baobabs. These ancient trees, of impressive grandeur, play an essential role in the life and culture of the continent.
In Africa, it is believed that humankind cannot survive without baobabs. They are the only trees whose trunks can be hollowed out and used as water reservoirs without compromising their vitality. Besides storing this precious resource, their roots are seen as the refuge of ancestral souls. Each spring, the baobab blooms and bears fruit with pulp containing six times more vitamin C than any other fruit. Its seeds, in turn, are pressed to extract a highly nutritious and valuable oil.
For the second edition of the Sacred Trees Summer candles, Baobab Collection has developed a new baobab design in collaboration with the artists of Uniwax. Three new colours of this design are now available in scented candles and fragrance diffusers: Cocody, Massasso, and Yarani.
With an environmental and social commitment, 5% of sales from this collection go to the Cœur Vert Foundation, recognised by the UN and supported by the government of Côte d’Ivoire, which is dedicated to environmental protection, with reforestation as its main mission within the framework of the Great Green Wall of Africa initiative. Previous editions have already enabled the implementation of a reforestation programme in northern Côte d’Ivoire, in the Worodougou region, resulting in the planting of 30,000 trees, including more than 20,000 baobabs during the summers of 2023 and 2024, as well as the creation of a community garden.
The reforestation programme will continue in the summer of 2025, with Baobab Collection aiming to expand the creation of gardens near local villages. This initiative seeks to support rural communities, promote female empowerment, and improve the social status of women. Known as Les jardins de Baobab Collection, these gardens go beyond the simple planting of trees, ensuring that actions have a significant community impact and are socially responsible.
Baobab Collection expresses its gratitude to Uniwax for its contribution in creating the new designs for this second edition of the summer baobabs. For every Sacred Trees Summer candle or diffuser purchased, new baobabs will be planted, ensuring the continuity of this sustainability and social responsibility project.
