The multifaceted artist Pharrell Williams and the prestigious French champagne house Moët & Chandon, founded in 1743, are merging their creative worlds to bring to life an exclusive bottle collection. In this special collaboration, the bow takes centre stage, while the reinvention of birthday celebrations serves as the guiding theme, inviting people to celebrate with their dearest ones.
Without a doubt, everything Pharrell Williams touches seems to turn to gold. Producer, singer, rapper, songwriter, designer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and creative director, he is one of the brightest and most influential minds of today, maintaining his position at the top for three decades. His journey includes iconic collaborations with artists such as Beyoncé, Madonna, Shakira, Rosalía, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and Miley Cyrus, among others. Beyond his success in music, he has carved out a distinguished place in the fashion industry with a meteoric and unprecedented rise. Over the years, he has signed jewellery, perfume, and furniture collections and has become the face of brands like Adidas and Uniqlo. He also founded two clothing brands: Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream, and, since 2023, has held the position of creative director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear line.
The most recent and highly anticipated partnership of Pharrell now comes with Moët & Chandon. Together, they have reinvented the concept of birthday celebrations, a ritual filled with gratitude and shared daily by 22 million people worldwide. Regarding his ideal birthday celebration, Pharrell shares: “The best birthday is the one spent with those we love most: friends, family, and all who support us, gathered under the same roof. It’s about creating special memories, enjoying good food, great music, and toasting with a glass of Moët & Chandon.”
From this month and throughout the next year, this experience will bear the signature of Pharrell Williams. The French maison has launched special editions featuring exclusive designs, with the bow taking the spotlight: a symbol that has adorned Moët & Chandon bottles since 1889, associated with unity, generosity, joy, and surprise. “To develop the concept, we explored the brand’s archives and came across this motif, which seemed perfect for this collaboration and the idea of reimagining birthday celebrations,” explains Pharrell, who dedicated months to the creative process. As part of this reinvention, the traditional ribbon on the bottle has been replaced by an elegant bow. “We wanted to expand the maison’s legacy and tradition, transforming iconic elements into something new that adds an extra touch.”
Pharrell has created limited editions for different bottles, dressing them appropriately for the occasion. “We chose colours that stand out and convey sophistication. The Brut Impérial appears in gold, midnight blue, and deep red, while the Nectar Impérial Rosé is dressed in white. These are colours that evoke luxury and the festive spirit of champagne,” reveals the artist. Additionally, the Bow Capsule Collection was created for the Grand Vintage Collection 2003 (black), Brut Impérial (midnight blue), and Nectar Impérial Rosé (white) champagnes, all in magnum format. Each bottle features an exquisite bow, adorned with a pearl necklace meticulously embroidered by the Parisian artisans of Atelier Baqué Molinié.
The jewel of this exclusive collection is the three-litre Jeroboam bottle of Brut Impérial. Skilled artisans have crafted a mirrored coating for each bottle, upon which artist Astrid de Chaillé applied 89 raised pearls, hand-painted. “I love pearls. They are timeless, classic, and add a three-dimensional aspect to the design, evoking the champagne bubbles,” says Pharrell. This edition also includes an impressive bow adorned with 7,310 pearls, whose artisanal craftsmanship required 300 hours of work. The bow is removable and can be worn as a brooch. With a design that blends sophistication and boldness with French aesthetics, this unique piece is limited to just 30 units worldwide. It can be acquired exclusively through Moët Hennessy’s private sales service, at the brand’s boutique in Épernay, and in select Moët & Chandon bars.
With this collection, Pharrell Williams and Moët & Chandon invite you to raise a glass. As the artist himself states, “We don’t need a specific reason to celebrate: it can be a major achievement, a reunion with friends and family, or simply a toast to life’s little moments. Champagne always adds a touch of elegance and joy to any occasion. I’m grateful to have so many moments worth celebrating in my life.”
