The restaurant Alma, led by chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, has retained its two Michelin stars, a distinction it has held since 2018, reaffirming itself as an undeniable reference in Portuguese gastronomy. This recognition, renewed for the seventh consecutive year, reinforces the prestige and excellence of its cuisine, consolidating Alma as a must-visit destination for haute cuisine enthusiasts in the capital.
Since its opening in 2015 and the achievement of its first star the following year, Alma’s journey has been marked by rigour, creativity, and consistency. For chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, this distinction primarily reflects the dedication and commitment of his team. “Renewing the two stars is always a moment of immense pride. More than an award, it is the validation of our daily commitment to quality, consistency, and rigour. All this is possible thanks to the tireless dedication of my team, who give 100% every day. This recognition is not mine alone; it belongs to all of us,” said the chef.
The second edition of the Michelin Gala in Portugal, held on 25 February in Porto, marked a significant moment for national gastronomy, highlighting the talent and creativity of Portuguese chefs and consolidating the international recognition of our cuisine. However, Portugal still does not have a restaurant with the prestigious three-star recognition…
Currently, the country has 38 restaurants awarded one Michelin star and eight with two, standing out as a destination of gastronomic excellence, where tradition and innovation meet. Alma, besides being one of the most renowned gastronomic establishments in Lisbon, is also one of the great ambassadors of contemporary Portuguese cuisine, contributing to the evolution and affirmation of national gastronomy on the world stage.
