Following Pantone’s announcement, WGSN (Worth Global Style Network), in collaboration with Coloro (an innovative colour system for the design industry) has unveiled the shades that will shape the upcoming fashion season. “This collaboration brings together all our global experts, from interior design, fashion, and beauty to consumer technology, sports, and outdoor activities,” says Urangoo Samba, WGSN’s Head of Colour.
One of the most anticipated moments in the worlds of fashion, design, and beauty happens at the turn of the year when the Colour of the Year is announced. This shade, which will influence countless future launches, is typically revealed in December. Pantone, the renowned colour institute that develops standards to facilitate colour selection across various industries, had already announced Mocha Mousse as its 2025 colour of the year. Subsequently, WGSN, in partnership with Coloro, revealed the colours set to dominate the next season. These new shades offer exciting alternatives for those who were not entirely convinced by Pantone’s choice.
Cocoa Powder
Cocoa Powder is a deep and familiar shade, symbolising “the rebirth of the real” as we reclaim artisanal techniques in a digital era. Though inherently earthy, it exudes a sophisticated feel, reflecting understated luxury. This colour highlights the ongoing prominence of brown, shifting towards a more neutral, realistic palette. Cocoa Powder evokes elements of nature, such as cocoa, mushrooms, and forest vegetation.
Green Glow
Green Glow is a vibrant and highly emotive hue, sitting between yellow and green. This luminous shade recalls neon and infrared lights, carrying a hypnotic quality that can evoke a wide range of emotions, from unease to excitement, fueling a desire for escapism from everyday life.
Transformative Teal
Already forecasted as the Colour of the Year for 2026, Transformative Teal explores the intersection between digital and natural realms, the terrestrial and the post-natural. Representing resilience, this shade embodies a world increasingly focused on planetary well-being. This season, it emerges as an alternative to darker tones. It is a timeless and inclusive colour, versatile enough for various clothing categories, from utilitarian to formal wear.
Wax Paper
Wax Paper is a creamy, off-white yellow with a soft, neutral quality that conveys serenity and relaxation. Its comforting warmth evokes feelings of inner glow and winter sunlight. With a focus on healing, Wax Paper connects with nature, inspired by ancient and sustainable colour practices.
Fresh Purple
Fresh Purple is inspired by the pursuit of immersive experiences and is culturally linked to royalty, love, mystery, and spirituality. This season, the shade is being reinterpreted with a fresh perspective. Associated with creative stimulation, energy, and extraordinary experiences, Fresh Purple aligns with artificial intelligence, challenging perceptions and giving the colour a new beginning in the virtual world.
