Montblanc reinforces its excellence in crafting gold nibs with a new Meisterstück collection that pays tribute to traditional Chinese craftsmanship and celebrates the art of oriental calligraphy.
Part of the Meisterstück Great Masters line, this collection highlights the rich heritage of China’s traditional arts. The Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé pen features Montblanc’s exclusive curved nib, designed for the intricate calligraphy of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean scripts, as well as for sketching and drawing. With a 45° angle, this nib enables a variety of widths, shapes, and line styles, meeting the demands of calligraphy while enhancing the elegance of writing. Depending on the nib’s position on paper, users can create broad horizontal lines, fine vertical strokes, and, when the nib is reversed, delicate lines for precise detailing.
To complement this ancient form of expression, the pen’s design incorporates elements inspired by Chinese craftsmanship. The barrel and cap showcase a translucent jade-green gradient lacquer, a shade known as celadon, evoking the refined Chinese porcelain of the same name. Beneath this layer, a golden engraving reinterprets zigzag geometric patterns commonly found in traditional bamboo weaving.
Retaining the classic codes of the Meisterstück pens, the Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé combines elegant gold accents with a cap crowned by Montblanc’s iconic emblem, symbolising the maison’s commitment to quality and excellence. The curved nib, handcrafted from solid Au 750/18K gold, is adorned with an engraving inspired by the flowing movements of calligraphy. In addition to the curved nib, this piece is also available with Montblanc’s classic medium nib or as a rollerball pen. With this collection, Montblanc continues its tradition of artisanal mastery, where inspiration is transformed into art through precision and skill. The Meisterstück Calligraphy Solitaire Celadon Dégradé is available at Montblanc boutiques and online.
