The Geneva-based manufacturer, Patek Philippe, is widely recognised for its mastery in creating watches with major combined complications. A striking example of this is the reference 5935A-001, which brings together two standout complications in watchmaking: the automatic flyback chronograph and the world time function.
This is the first steel version of one of Patek Philippe’s iconic models, standing out for its blend of sporty style and vintage design touches. The rose gold opaline dial features a carbon pattern at its centre, giving the piece a sense of modernity and dynamism. Applied anthracite gold indices with luminescent coating contrast against this, allowing the time to be read in low-light conditions. The steel case is 41 mm in diameter and 12.75 mm thick.
Around the dial are the names of cities representing the 24 time zones. An exclusive patented mechanism allows all the indicators to be adjusted with a single push of the button located at 10 o’clock. The chronograph hand is centred on the dial.
Inside, we find the automatic mechanical movement, calibre CH 28 520 HU, visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 metres . This model comes with two leather straps: one in grainy taupe brown and another in beige with a nubuck finish.
Always at the forefront, Patek Philippe doesn’t hesitate to combine several complications into a single piece, as seen in this reference 5935A-001, where a flyback chronograph and world time are combined.
