The unveiling of the first Portofino Chronograph 39 with a stainless steel bracelet took place at Watches and Wonders in Shanghai. The watch, crafted from stainless steel, is compact and user-friendly, combining a silver dial and rhodium-coated hands with a sporty chronograph complication. This model is powered by the Caliber 69355, a chronograph movement developed by IWC, which can be admired through the sapphire glass case back.
Since 1984, the Portofino collection has established itself as one of the most iconic lines from IWC Schaffhausen, noted for its freshness and purity of lines. Its minimalist round case, Roman numerals, and simple hour markers provide exceptional versatility. This year, at Watches and Wonders Shanghai, IWC Schaffhausen continues this tradition with the Portofino Chronograph 39 (Ref. IW391503). This watch, which combines the classic and timeless design of the Portofino with a sporty chronograph complication, features a compact case diameter of 39 millimeters. The polished stainless steel case, silver dial, and rhodium-coated hands and appliques give it an elegant appearance.
For the first time, the Portofino Chronograph 39 comes equipped with a 5-link stainless steel bracelet, offering robustness and great comfort. The integrated quick-change system allows for easy swapping of the bracelet for another option, such as leather, thereby adapting the watch’s look for different styles or occasions. The Portofino Chronograph 39 consists of 205 individual parts, enabling the measurement of elapsed times of up to 30 minutes, also visible through the sapphire glass case back. The bi-directional winding system with a clutch reliably accumulates a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring.
