Oscar winner Cillian Murphy is the star of the Versace Icons campaign. This is his latest project, the first since winning an Oscar for Oppenheimer.
In this new Versace Icons campaign, Murphy fronts the men’s collection while Anne Hathaway showcases the women’s collection. The Oscar winners appear in a campaign photographed by the duo Mert and Marcus, with styling by Jacob K. The Irish actor joins Hathaway and other icons of the Italian brand, such as Chris Lee and K-pop star Ningning, in leading the current campaigns. In various looks, the Oppenheimer lead actor dons timeless pieces from Versace’s men’s collection.
“I am so pleased to have Cillian join the Versace family. He is a truly exceptional actor and completely deserves his Oscar win. He is magnetic and mesmerizing in front of the camera, and I loved seeing him bring Versace to life,” Donatella Versace stated in a press release.
The 47-year-old actor teamed up with Donatella Versace to headline the new Icons campaign and appear alongside another Versace “veteran,” Anne Hathaway. Donatella praised the duo as “very Versace,” adding, “Strong, direct, iconic. To me, Anne and Cillian are two of the best actors of today. Exceptionally talented and kind people whom I admire and respect at their best.”
Amid his award-winning journey as the lead in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Murphy has emerged as an icon of elegance and style through the minimalist outfits he wore. In a recent statement, he revealed that he was drawn to this “role” by being closely involved in the Icons vision. “Collaborating with Donatella — from sharing image references to selecting the Fountains D.C. music for the video — resulted in a campaign that reflects who I am,” he said. “The collection, with rich and well-tailored designs made from excellent fabric, fits me perfectly.”
