In honor of the women transforming the business world, the two Portuguese artists have developed unique pieces inspired by the iconic capsules of the Elizabeth Arden brand. Arden, a visionary and entrepreneurial woman ahead of her time, revolutionized the world of dermocosmetics with her concept of total beauty — which consists of combining skincare, nutrition, and well-being. She opened her first beauty salon (1910) in New York, better known as the “Red Door” (due to its red doors), pioneering the concept of a spa. Arden quickly made her products and salon a global beauty icon. Now, to honor the women transforming the business world, the two Portuguese artists Anna Westerlund and Juliana Bezerra have developed unique pieces inspired by the brand’s iconic capsules.
Relevant Women, a beauty project
To honor and continue the legacy of the brand’s founder, Elizabeth Arden created the “Relevant Women” project, an initiative that supports and celebrates the beauty, talent, and passion of female entrepreneurship, with exclusive collaborations with influential women in various national fields. The partnership involves creating exclusive pieces that combine the artists’ art with the brand’s history and DNA. Among colors, textures, and design, these pieces were inspired by the iconic retinol and hyaluronic acid capsules. Anna Westerlund designed a ceramic bowl that can be used to hold the hyaluronic acid serum capsules. Meanwhile, Juliana Bezerra’s “imperfect” silver pendant represents the capsule shape, with garnet stone symbolizing the color of the new retinol range.
“Our most powerful tools are our hearts and hands. Spending some time working with them allows us to establish a special connection with others and ourselves. That’s why starting a business and making this passion my artistic project was a natural and very emotional process. The same freshness with which inspiration comes to my hands is what I feel when I take care of my skin with Elizabeth Arden’s Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum. The most effective single-dose capsule treatment to keep our skin hydrated,” — Anna Westerlund.
Inspired mainly by nature, art, simplicity, and the beauty of things, Juliana Bezerra created her brand with the goal of developing pieces that make people feel special. Anna Westerlund’s and Juliana Bezerra’s pieces have been exclusively available since June and until October, respectively, at the brand’s corner in El Corte Inglés in Lisbon.
