Ammy Drammeh, Global Makeup Creative Partner and member of the Cometes Collective, draws inspiration from the lush tones of nature to create Jardin Imaginaire, the maison’s summer makeup line, rich in varied shades and imaginative nuances.
Her imaginary garden, unlike any other, is an adventure and an invitation to indulge in a midsummer night’s dream. Electric greens, luminous oranges, fuchsia pinks, and violet blues remind us of the flowers in summer gardens, the colorful flutter of butterfly wings, a fictitious world of extraordinary creatures, and fabulous flora.
“I wanted to build a bridge between reality and fiction. I was inspired by fairy tales and stories that describe nature as an enchanted place saturated with color, where flowers resemble jewels and harmonious light reflects the most surprising textures. I wanted to add unexpected vibrant nuances and treat each color as a tool to be used skillfully,” says Ammy Drammeh.
The colors of seduction
After the ocean blue by makeup artist Valentina Li for Chanel’s Spring 2024 collection and Cécile Paravina’s monochromatic environment for Ombre Essentielle, Ammy Drammeh’s Jardin Imaginaire now expresses the poetry of each color, giving it a certain spirit and symbolism.
“Personally, I see color as a fascination. It cannot be explained. The choice of a color is very spontaneous, very intuitive, and very natural. There is something magical, intangible, and inexplicable about this process. Colors define our fascination every day, sometimes without us realizing it,” says Ammy Drammeh.
More than ever, color at Chanel is a way to explore and express individual personality, offering a multitude of possibilities and providing the freedom to reinvent oneself as often as desired.
“Ammy’s collection suggests a new way of thinking about color in makeup. It is a dream garden, a utopian summer day. All the colors in the collection are as shimmering as they are vibrant, which I find truly inspiring,” emphasized Valentina Li.
“Jardin Imaginaire appeals to experimentation. I can easily imagine looks that give the impression of blending into nature, as if the eyes and lips turned into flowers,” added Cécile Paravina.
Stylo Ombre et Contour
“With this collection, I wanted to give the opportunity to be free and use colors that resemble us. I wanted to dress the Stylo Ombre et Contour in imaginative, bold shades. They allow for the easy creation of numerous makeup looks. They provide the opportunity to feel confident and have fun with colors that you wouldn’t dare to use in everyday life,” says Ammy Drammeh.
Exclusive blush and highlighter Complexion Creation
The Golden Peach highlighter duo, in gold and peach, evokes the sunset. It enhances the complexion and provides a natural and healthy glow, with a touch of subtle tan thanks to the coral blush. Meanwhile, Light and Berry, in the colors of wild berries, draws inspiration from the chromatic palette of certain summer flowers, like dahlias. The highlighter contains pink pearls for an iridescent effect on the skin. As for the blush, it is a matte fuchsia pink, easy to adapt to all skin types.
Sparkling balm
“The shade Moonlight Kiss is a rose gold that adorns the cheekbones with a radiant and luminous shine. A multi-use color, ideal for every day, that can be used on the top of the cheekbones, as well as on the brow bone, nose, and inner corner of the eyelids,” says Ammy Drammeh.
The solar glow of Solar Glow is a surprising copper bronze. “On darker skin tones, its warm nuances elevate the complexion. On lighter skin tones, it enhances the skin with a bronzed glow that is perfect for summer,” says Ammy Drammeh.
Shimmering Le Vernis
The shimmering green of Rêveuse is “a metallic golden green,” which stands out particularly on nails. “This shade was inspired by the fantastic colors of insects found in certain tropical forests.” The pinkish and pearly Songe d’été topcoat, to be used individually or over color, adds “a completely different dimension.” Finally, Faun, “a rich and easy-to-wear brown, with a depth of color that conveys the spirit of this collection.”
