The luxury maison returned to Paris Fashion Week to share with the media, influencers, and VIP guests, including Zinedine Zidane and Rupert Friend, a glimpse of its latest leather pieces on display at La Galerie Bourbon in the heart of Paris. The recently restored historic salons and galleries provided the perfect setting to showcase the leather collections that balance Montblanc’s rich heritage with new bold and exciting designs, signed by the brand’s Artistic Director, Marco Tomasetta.
Following the presentation of its “Library Spirit” campaign in 2023, connecting Montblanc as a maison rooted in the culture of writing with the inspiring power of the library as the home of millions of words, Montblanc now introduces “The Desk,” its latest theme, highlighting the desk as a channel for creation and self-expression. While the library is the place where inspiration can be found in what has already been created, the desk is where ideas take shape for the first time, the only piece of furniture designed exclusively to put pen to paper and to inspire writing and fuel creativity.
“Just like writing a novel or a poem, design is also about capturing an idea or thought on paper so that it can become something bigger, something tangible for others to experience and enjoy. Sometimes overlooked, the desk is a sacred and special place for a designer, a writer, a creative, where the concepts swirling in our minds take form before our eyes, guided by our pen. We don’t just want to celebrate the importance of the desk with our latest theme, we want to invite others to sit at the desk and express their own creativity,” says Marco Tomasetta, Artistic Director of Montblanc.
Upon arrival at La Galerie Bourbon, guests such as Zinedine Zidane, Rupert Friend, Stella Maxwell, and Alex Pettyfer were welcomed in the courtyard, where a coffee cart with a Meisterstück installation referenced the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the maison’s most iconic writing instrument (2024). Inside the venue, guests were able to discover Montblanc’s latest collections, as well as the desk where creative magic happens for anyone who sits down. Once the Parisian residence of the Spanish Royal family, La Galerie Bourbon has been restored to its former glory and elegance after extensive renovations. Among its illustrious guests was Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who is said to have been inspired there for his most famous novel, Le Petit Prince, during his stay at La Galerie Bourbon.
