In a tribute to the greatest diva of Portuguese fado, Portugal Jewels and the Amália Rodrigues Foundation have joined forces to create the jewelry collection “Amália and The Flowers”, an ode to the timelessness and irreverence of the fado singer.
The collection is inspired by Amália’s passion for flowers, with the cherry blossom as a key piece since the birth of the fado singer has always been associated with the cherry season. The aesthetics and memory of Amália Rodrigues are represented in the 15 pieces, designed and conceived to be multifaceted, allowing them to be worn in different ways, just as the fado singer used to do.
Embedded and hand-engraved in gilded silver, the flowers appear in various scales and are combined with stones of different colors in necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and brooches. All the jewelry includes details related to the life and tastes of the fado singer, such as the “Florescer Amália” earrings, where the cherry tree trunk is represented and can be combined with or without the flower.
“Amália and The Flowers” was born as a collection that Amália would include in her looks, representing her taste and style combined with the history of a woman who was a global icon of the 20th century.
