The French brand founded by Jacques Courtin-Clarins in 1954 revolutionized the market with its unique approach to beauty, based on innovation and closeness to the customer.
Clarins, the number one prestige skincare brand in Europe, celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, rich in a history marked by constant innovation, based on a close relationship with its customers, attentive to their desires and needs, and with an uninterrupted desire to improve. Clarins’ 70 years mark a balance between deep values and significant moments in building a brand committed to making the best and most effective products on the market through plant science, pioneering the use of these for the formulation of its products. Over the past 70 years, Clarins has used science to perfect what nature invents.
Clarins’ expertise, deepened by its insatiable quest for knowledge and research, encourages its formulas to be frequently reviewed and improved, updating its ingredients as new knowledge emerges; this high level of knowledge is also evident in the brand’s own application methods and movements, developed by the brand, which, when conveyed to customers, extend the maison’s experience beyond the spa and enable better utilization of its products.
A rich and beautiful history
What began as a beauty institute in Paris, seeking to meet women’s needs through its innovative oils for body and face, quickly became a globally recognized success, with market-leading products. All this was possible through a constant search for innovation and a unique approach to beauty and nature, always cultivating a sense of social responsibility and sustainability, seen by the brand as fundamental values. Pioneering in so many areas — and always attentive to the needs and goals of its customers, who were given feedback cards early on about the products, so they could be improved later — Clarins remains true to its transparent, responsible essence, and futuristic vision of society and the environment. In 1999, Clarins was one of the pioneering brands to abandon the use of plastic bags in stores in France. In 2016, the Domaine Clarins was inaugurated, the so-called “open-air laboratory” in the French Alps, which allows the maison to study, provide, and produce exceptional ingredients, 100% organic, in total respect for biodiversity, which are used in its products. In 2022, through the Clarins T.R.U.S.T. platform, the brand invites its customers to trace their products from supply to production.
Congratulations to Clarins, for its 70 years and its history, milestones, and projects, which never cease to amaze us.
