The French designer, winner in the Best in Innovative category with first place at the Couture Design Awards 2023, is renowned for the colorful nature of her jewelry. This year’s collection, a tribute to Italian master jewelers and the iconic Venetian bollards, comes in three versions of gold and enamel paved with diamonds arranged in circular patterns.
Marie Lichtenberg’s irreverent style blends French sensibility with influences from around the world, especially from Martinique, her mother’s birthplace. The coconut gold chains, with bold medallion clasps, celebrate emancipation in Creole culture, a tradition passed down through generations — Marie received her first medallion from her mother when she was still a teenager, igniting her appreciation for the emotional value of jewelry. Years later, during a visit to India, Marie sketched the first draft of a love locket, seduced by the vibrant colors of the country, its spiritual heritage, and the most ancient jewelry traditions. This transformative journey gave rise to the Marie Lichtenberg Fine Jewelry project, resulting in a collection of love locks in handcrafted 18-karat recycled gold chains made in Italy, mauli silk cords with Indian pearls and beads from Ghana handwoven with gemstones. To this, she added earrings, pendants, amulets, and bracelets with new gold finishes, as well as an ever-evolving line of chains and cords, each developed with an uncompromising approach to quality.
The designer, who now collaborates with some of the world’s finest workshops, in close dialogue with leading experts in hand enameling, guilloché, diamond cutting, and artisans specializing in coconut gold finishing, never ceases to amaze. And each of her collections is a challenge to the imagination.
Toy Story
Whimsical and unique, Marie Lichtenberg’s latest collection rests its peculiarity on a series of friendly characters that serve as muses for distinctive jewelry design. The campaign reveals images that not only showcase the collection but also celebrate the individuality of each piece. Photographed by the talented Bruno Staub, this line plays with the magnetic attraction of opposites and radiates a sense of humor without straying from the mastery and rigor of intricate details.
The designer’s iconic locket, the Orb necklace, and the Box engagement ring can be seen alongside a Scapular pendant with diamonds and rubies; a giant mouse wears a horseshoe-shaped ring, and a Dalmatian sports a rivière mesh necklace with diamonds.
