To pay homage to the unshakable ties that have linked Dior to the United States since the house’s beginnings, Dior’s Fall 2024 collection, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, will be presented in New York on April 15th. In celebration of the maison’s founder’s passion for the fascinating American metropolis, this captivating show will take place at the Brooklyn Museum, reinforcing the symbolic and powerful alliance between Dior and this emblematic institution. With more than 100 looks, the show “celebrates the meeting of cultures” between Paris and New York, two capitals of art and fashion.
The actress and longtime friend of Christian Dior, Marlene Dietrich, is the figure who unites the two cultures and centers of style, serving as inspiration to Maria Grazia Chiuri in designing the line. The designer was inspired by the youthful and charismatic elements of the actress’s eclectic style. In this collection, structured blazers are paired with wide-leg trousers and pencil skirts, paying homage to Dietrich’s bold style and visionary spirit.
In recent years, Dior has traveled the world to present its collections, including the most recent Pre-Fall collection, which was presented at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Guests were able to admire models walking the runway in styles that reflect Chiuri’s appreciation for Indian fashion and artisanal traditions, with the Taj Mahal as a backdrop.
Before the April show, discover some looks from Dior’s Pre-Fall collection, full of vintage-inspired designs that evoke the light, airy dresses of the 1940s and structured men’s suits in the style of Dietrich.
