‘Open Air Tales’ is a collection of stories, rituals and contexts lived outdoors, having as their fil rouge the values of RODA’s vision where places of nature become the settings for telling the story of new collections and expansions presented in the 2024 catalogue. Between the pages, the images speak of people and landscapes, of enjoyable and carefree hours, of intimacy and conviviality. Narratives of an everyday life lived to the full, in contact with nature and its elements, with light, shapes, flavors, colors and scents that remain impressed on the moment and in the memory.
Open Air Tales carefully unfurls around each collection, which stems from the designers’ and the company’s sensitivity and experience, together with specialized construction techniques and exceptional materials bolstered by research into sustainability and innovation.
ASTRA, the new collection of reclining lounge chairs and sofas designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, combines comfort and functionality to be distinguished by the combination of ropes and aluminum in the various color variants of RODA’s mix&match project, to integrate lightly and elegantly into any context.
EOLIE, the latest modular outdoor collection designed by Gordon Guillaumier and made entirely of FSC- certified Iroko timber, natural or painted with a visible wood grain in three different colors, comes in a combination of sun loungers, tables and gazebos. As the name EOLIE suggests, the loungers together with the other elements are combined in a system to form veritable islands of comfort.
The round coffee tables of the new ZEFIRO collection designed by Piero Lissoni feature a light stainless-steel frame on which a thin, circular aluminium top rests in a combination of functionality and style.
ESTENDO, the modular outdoor sofa with an aluminum frame recently designed by Luca Pevere for Roda, is enriched by two low tables – round and rectangular – plus a chaise longue module and an end module with or without integrated table.
LAZE, RODA’s iconic family of outdoor seating conceived and designed by Gordon Guillaumier, gets a makeover by adding to the three lounge chairs a new dining chair with and without armrests, where design, comfort and functionality are once again the protagonists.
The ORSON folding outdoor seating collection, designed by Gordon Guillaumier, this year offers as a novelty, a dining version with the same wooden frame yet free from fabric on the side, recalling the classic director’s chair from which it takes its inspiration.
PIPER is a complete system designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. Elegantly embracing both the living and relaxation area as well as the dining dimension, this series introduces a new low backrest with belts and novel shaped cushions that follow the trapezoidal form of the structure, being enveloping and comfortable.
Also new for PLEIN AIR by Michael Anastassiades is the family of tables and chairs in aluminium with a clean and refined design, here with a new armchair as a lounge version of the dining chair, which again sees a skilful play of tension to be seemingly suspended with an effect of subtracted volume, completing the proposal and matching.
