There’s a new range of shades, modern and rich, available in two finishes, satin and velvet, in the Rouge Dior Reno lineup. And we’re already hooked on these long-lasting innovations!
In 1953, after dressing each woman like a couturier, Christian Dior brought Rouge Dior to life. It was not only the maison’s first makeup product but also a reflection of his desire to adorn women’s smiles, no matter the occasion. Today, the iconic lipstick continues to beautify and enrich women’s faces, giving them the ability to express their individuality.
The Rouge Dior innovations
Rouge Dior has now been reinvented, more iconic than ever, staying true to its high-fashion legacy and avant-garde character under the direction of Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup. The new formula is at the forefront of innovation, enriched with a unique red peony floral extract and a combination of active floral ingredients for enhanced comfort and remarkable performance. Featuring a wide and desirable range of new shades, Rouge Dior transcends eras, remaining consistently contemporary. The new color collection, available in high-fashion satin and velvet finishes, caters to all moods, and the refillable packaging displays an even more elegant look, resembling a coveted object echoing the sophistication of a Dior jewel.
Rouge Dior challenges the limits of ‘high-color, high-coverage, and long-lasting’ lipstick, providing maximum comfort. Thus begins a new chapter in the history of this lipstick. “Renewing Rouge Dior is always an exciting challenge. How to surpass a product that is already excellent? But we did it once again, improving the formula, ingredients, our color expertise, and savoir-faire. The new Rouge Dior is ready to maintain its crown as the reigning lipstick,” says Peter Philips.
The colors
Seventy (70) is the number of shades developed by Peter Philips for this highly colorful and perfectly lasting lipstick. An absolute color artist, he created a complete range of current tones with a touch of audacity in velvety and satin finishes. Drawing on Dior’s expertise in the multiple tones and sub-tones of lips, Philips expanded the nude tone range, a natural color with a thousand facets and subtle nuances, to enhance various skin tones. New colors have also been developed: reddish browns, bricks, rosy nudes, and brownish corals. This range of shades allowed him to create and invent an endless array of possible looks, from the most sophisticated to the boldest, to express the beauty and personality of all women.
About the finishes…
The satin and velvety finishes of Rouge Dior provide ultra-pigmented, long-lasting color, resulting in perfect, uniform coverage resistant to the test of time. Rich and vibrant pigments give rise to the intense shades of their formulas. The lipstick bullets are adorned with meticulous details, motifs inspired by Dior fabrics, revealing the finish of each shade.
Rouge Dior velvet exceeds expectations with its matte appearance as deep and rich as velvet fabric. Unique in its kind, it offers a sensory touch as smooth as velvet without compromising long-lasting comfort: its film is imperceptible on the lips, like a second skin, leaving them plump and soft-looking. Its unprecedented smoothing effect, combined with matte texture and extreme color, makes it a very well-received innovation.
Dior laboratories accepted the challenge of incorporating a trio of 100% natural origin waxes, combining sensuality and effectiveness. This “waxy core” forms the structure of the formula, ensuring proper glide while simultaneously providing optimal adherence to the lips. On the other hand, Rouge Dior Satin delivers a captivating and faceted luminous finish, as well as a silky veil. The texture ensures an enveloping layer of color and a smooth surface – the skin of the lips is filled and flexible, enhanced by intense brightness and incredible softness.
Natural origin waxes, along with a duo of powders, contribute to the feeling of well-being and the smooth application of the lipstick. They also provide long-lasting comfort, accentuated by a film so thin that it’s like a second skin. The impact of the color is ensured without compromising comfort, sensory feel, or finish performance.
