A watch of exquisite elegance, the new Overseas Tourbillon model from Vacheron Constantin showcases a demonstration of technique and refinement. Available in an original combination of white gold with a blue dial, it is also characterized by a bezel and indicators entirely set with baguette-cut diamonds.
With a diameter of 42.5 millimeters, this sports watch boasts an elegant design thanks to the ultra-thin automatic movement of the in-house caliber 2160 with a tourbillon. The watch comes with three interchangeable bracelets/straps. The main bracelet, integrated into the case and made of white gold, features a folding clasp, while the two additional straps, one in blue leather and the other in rubber, are fastened with an interchangeable white gold buckle, also set with baguette-cut diamonds.
Vacheron Constantin chose the Overseas Tourbillon model to introduce two novelties to its collection dedicated to the spirit of travel. For the first time, the model is coated in white gold, a material perfectly suited to its sophisticated nature. To enhance the luminous shine of the metal, the watch features the iconic satin-finished blue dial from the collection. The second novelty stands out with chromatic contrasts, accentuated by the setting of 60 diamonds on the six-sided bezel, a setting that also covers the indicators. Unlike other Overseas models, the diamonds in this piece are cut in baguette, with minimalist profiles inspired by the highly structured forms of the watch.
The Overseas Tourbillon watch is a sublime interpretation of the Maison’s sober and creative aesthetics, combined with perfect technical mastery. This harmony is evidenced by the slim contours of the watch, made possible by the ultra-thin movement of the caliber 2160, with a thickness of only 5.65 millimeters. These proportions, just over 10 millimeters thick for the entire watch, are achieved thanks to the 22-carat gold peripheral rotor, ensuring an 80-hour power reserve. This architecture highlights the reduced thickness of the watch, eliminating the central axis of rotation of the oscillating mass and providing a clear view of the entire movement on the back.
The spectacle offered by this ultra-thin caliber 2160 is even more surprising. With a pearl-finished main plate, bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève, hand-beveled edges, as well as the tourbillon bar, ground gears, and beveled and polished screws, the caliber 2160 and its 188 components represent the epitome of technical and exquisite Haute Horlogerie. With a frequency of 2.5 Hertz (18,000 vibrations per hour), it features hours and minutes indication, as well as a small second on the tourbillon cage.
However, this harmonious Overseas Tourbillon high jewelry watch stands out above all for the extraordinary elegance of its stylized case.
