In the automotive world, the relentless pursuit of the perfect trilogy – elegance, innovation, and performance – reaches new heights in 2024, promising not just new cars but on-the-road experiences that transcend mere transportation. And almost all of them are electric. From impressive technological advancements to design that defies expectations, every detail reveals captivating engineering and limitless luxury.
Maserati Quattroporte
It is a new gran tourer that will be, from next year onwards, Maserati’s only sedan. At that time, the Ghibli will exit the stage, as will the current generation of Quattroporte, which will be succeeded by this 100% electric four-door adopting the Folgore suffix. This new machine pampers its driver with a 424 hp V-6 twin-turbo engine and a sports-tuned chassis. With an elegant exterior design, it stands out among luxury sedans for its aggressive appearance and design details. With Stellantis Group’s STLA architecture, it will be exclusively offered with battery electric powertrains, with the main version expected to be equipped with a dual-motor transmission system or even a triple-motor system with over 746 kW.
Lexus TX
The twin brother of Toyota’s Grand Highlander, also a newcomer next year, as it shares its platform, this TX features luxurious details. The base version is the TX 350 powered by a 2.4-liter turbo-4 with 275 hp. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive can be added. Standard features include heated seats, eight-way power adjustment for the front driver and passenger, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Three different engines will be available, including two hybrids – one of which is a plug-in. The most powerful version is the TX550h+, using the 3.5-liter V-6 engine and plug-in hybrid system to generate 406 hp, expected to have a battery capable of powering the SUV for 50 km before needing a recharge. Standard technology includes a 7” digital instrument panel, a 14” infotainment screen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless phone charging.
Porsche Taycan Turbo GT
Porsche is launching a sportier version of the Taycan, targeting the Tesla Model S Plaid. In addition to the more aggressive look, this new model may exceed 1000 hp. Spotted testing at Nürburgring, this electric vehicle features updated road-oriented powertrain and chassis. At the front, the headlights integrate with a redesigned cooling ventilation arrangement to direct air to the brakes and powertrain electronics. In addition to Taycan’s cornering capability, Porsche will upgrade its electric motors. The mid-cycle update will be introduced across the Taycan lineup and will include more advanced LED matrix headlights with a brighter and more precise light pattern. An updated infotainment system is also expected.
Cadillac Celestiq
The brand’s new handmade super-luxurious car comes with a price tag that corresponds to its exclusivity, as no two Celestiqs will be alike, as they will be tailored to each customer’s specifications. Without a combustion engine, it uses GM’s Ultium electric platform, although the 111 kWh battery and other components, such as the final transmission of the electric motors, are specific to the car. The Celestiq features 600 hp and 868 Nm of torque from the two motors. According to Cadillac, the battery provides a range of 480 km, charging at 200 kW, allowing it to recover 125 km in just ten minutes at a fast-charging station. With various luxury features, an extremely sophisticated suspension system, and several 3D-printed parts, the Celestiq is ready to impress. Starting with an instrument panel that is essentially a giant digital display. The roof, an electrochromic smart glass panel, can be adjusted from transparent to opaque, allowing each passenger to control their slice of the sky.
Rolls-Royce Spectre
The British luxury brand is taking its spirit of luxury to a new level with the fully electric Spectre coupe. Powered by a 100% electric powertrain consisting of two electric motors producing a combined 577 hp and 900 Nm of torque, it has an estimated range of about 420 km per charge. Rolls-Royce has installed adaptive suspension to ensure properly isolated driving over bumps. Extremely quiet, the cabin offers space for four people with seats in both rows, and in addition to the main attraction of the starry night, a characteristic of the brand, the Spectre’s door panels stand out for the small LED lights shining in the area around the armrests. Redefining luxury once again, the brand allows customization of the Spectre as desired.
Bentley Continental GT
It is a grand tourer that offers luxurious and comfortable driving, making long journeys seem shorter. Designed to stand out on the road, it is equipped with a turbocharged V-8 or W-12 engine, both for maximum power. The vehicle can handle curves like a sports car without sacrificing comfortable driving that hides road imperfections. Style adjustments for 2024 include new 22” wheel options for the Azure trim, dark gray exterior details on the Speed model, and a new optional dark finish for the aluminum grille trim. The interior of the Continental GT is coated in aromatic and luxurious leather and fine wood veneers, with almost everything being customizable. Bentley designers have thought of every detail, such as skillfully knurled control buttons and seat finishes with double stitching in a diamond pattern. The Continental GT features a 12.3” infotainment screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as well as a digital display that allows the driver to manage most car functions with the steering wheel controls.
