The story of Buccellati, one of the most prestigious high jewelry brands, is a vivid example of the craftsmanship and creativity that defines the world of luxury. Founded in Milan in 1919 by Mario Buccellati, also known as “The Prince of Jewelers“, this Italian Maison stands out for its meticulous work, creating unique pieces that combine rare stones with vibrant colors, as well as sculpted white and yellow gold, evoking the delicacy of lace.
Engraving, an emblematic feature of the brand, preserves the traditional techniques of Italian Renaissance jewelers. Carried out with burins, traditional tools that produce a play of light and softness on precious metal, this technique gives Buccellati jewelry a unique texture and delicate shine. The meticulous skill of the brand’s craftsmen elevates each piece to a level of prestige and admiration, with each engraving requiring hours, days, or even months of dedicated and patient work to shape beauty into every detail.
As a renowned Italian high jewelry brand, Buccellati is currently integrated into the Swiss Richemont Group but preserves its family soul, maintaining the heritage and unmistakable style that has made it known worldwide.
Macri Bombé Collection, the evolution of tradition
The Macri line from Buccellati, with about 40 years of history, was born from the talent of Gianmaria Buccellati (the second generation of Maison Buccellati). Inspired by the simple elegance of his daughter Maria Cristina (the name Macri is composed of the first syllables of her name and surname), Gianmaria created extremely refined jewelry pieces that express personal feelings through delicate design. The latest addition to the line is the Macri Bombé mini collection, which reinvents this classic design with smooth lines and subtle curvature on the surface of gold, maintaining the “rigato” engraving and the insertion of diamonds. The bracelets in this collection, available in 5mm or 8mm width bands, harmoniously combine yellow or rose gold with white gold bezels, reflecting the tradition and elegance of Maison Buccellati.
Opera Collection expands with Opera Tulle Premium, Opera Tulle Maxi, and Opera Galileo
The Buccellati Opera collection expands with three new creations. These pieces incorporate the Renaissance rose, a symbol of the brand, into innovative and attractive designs, while maintaining the aesthetic codes of the Maison.
The Opera Tulle Premium line stands out for incorporating diamonds in the contours modeled in yellow gold and in fan-shaped parts. The center is adorned with radial tulle and a diamond set in white gold, maintaining Buccellati’s tradition of contrasting golden colors and “modellato” and “rigato” engravings. This line includes button earrings and a pendant with a chain.
The Opera Tulle Maxi features an enlargement of the logo, combined with tulle work, offering a striking yet discreet style, true to Buccellati’s style. It is available with a central diamond, with the option of diamonds in the contours.
The Opera Galileo line, dedicated to the genius and creativity of Galileo Galilei, features a pendant with concentric elements that rotate, creating a three-dimensional effect. Available in two versions, with or without embedded diamonds, this piece reflects the movement and beauty of the cosmos.
With these collections, as well as other exclusive jewelry pieces including earrings, bracelets, rings, pendants, and necklaces, Buccellati’s century-old elegance is available at the Boutique dos Relógios Plus Art on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon.
