Dolce & Gabbana, through the Supported by Dolce & Gabbana project in partnership with Katie Grand, is boosting new talents in the fashion industry, showcasing emerging designers such as Miss Sohee, Matty Bovan, Tomo Koizumi, and Karoline Vitto. Now, the young fashion designer Feben, originally from Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, is taking the spotlight.
Feben, with a master’s degree from Central Saint Martins and a scholarship from Isabella Blow, has built her fashion career in London. Her notable designs, characterized by a surreal fascination, transcend borders by seamlessly blending material and form, resulting in distinct silhouettes and vibrant prints.
The collaboration between Supported by Dolce & Gabbana and Feben goes beyond sponsorship, forming a partnership that embraces all phases of the creative process. Dolce & Gabbana is committed to providing financial support and supplying materials and textiles to bring Feben’s new collection to life.
The highly anticipated debut fashion show by Feben is set to take place at the Dolce & Gabbana building on Via Broggi, 23, in Milan, during Milan Fashion Week in February 2024. The event marks the brand’s first presentation at the prestigious Milanese fashion week, creating high expectations around Feben’s collection and emphasizing the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, a value shared by the Italian designer duo.
Feben expresses gratitude for the extraordinary opportunity, highlighting the honor of showcasing her work with Dolce & Gabbana and the chance to expand her brand to new audiences.
Dolce & Gabbana emphasizes that this partnership is a natural extension of the founders’ commitment to promoting young talent. However, they are not alone, as other established fashion brands like Gucci and Valentino in Italy, and AZ Factory in Paris, also support emerging designers. Fashion experts note that, beyond altruism, such partnerships can elevate the cultural prestige of major brands, establishing a mutually beneficial relationship.
In this context, Dolce & Gabbana’s recent history includes supporting South Korean designer Sohee Park, based in London, in February 2022, for her debut collection in Milan, whose pieces were worn by celebrities such as Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande.
