It’s not so much a farewell, but rather a welcoming gesture to 2024. For the last night of the year, Chef Gil Fernandes, at the helm of the kitchen at the always elegant Fortaleza do Guincho in Cascais, has prepared a memorable menu to celebrate the end of the year in style. Premium ingredients from national origins, along with others such as truffles and caviar, adorn the tables and season the dishes, where fish and shellfish from the Portuguese coast take center stage.
The welcome cocktail begins at 8:00 PM, followed by dinner at 8:30 PM. At the table, diners can expect snacks, a surprising cast of various captivating moments, and the theme for a memorable experience. And right after, treasures from our sea, such as the Xeq Xeq Shrimp, Peniche Lobster with Alentejo ham and caviar, or Line-Caught Sea Bass with razor clams and wild mushrooms. To beautifully conclude the chapter of main courses, the chef presents National Wagyu with parsnip and truffle. In the dessert section, the selected pre-dessert is Serra da Estrela cheese with quince, and to finish, the promised “Champagne Bath” — a chocolate bathtub filled with citrus, brandy mousse, champagne foam, and surprises!
As the night is for celebration, there is room for the guest DJ, who curates the perfect playlist for a memorable New Year’s Eve. On January 1st, lunch is at Spot, with a breathtaking view of the Atlantic, and it is the last opportunity to enjoy a meal at Fortaleza do Guincho until mid-March, as the hotel will close for renovations to the rooms, restaurant, bar, and common areas. The return promises a more open and bright Fortaleza… and a new menu that will welcome spring.
