The Ludo Secret collection is a sublime combination of purity and elegance, a reinterpretation of an iconic creation from 1934. Inspired by the nickname of one of the founders of the maison, the Ludo bracelet was launched with great success, reminiscent of the shape of a belt, a popular fashion accessory at the time. It stands out for its flexible mesh and buckle adorned with gemstones. The first Ludo Secret watches were created in 1935, inspired by this bracelet.
This year, Van Cleef & Arpels presents a new aesthetic in guilloché yellow gold, a technique revered by the maison since the 1910s. This technique involves engraving delicate parallel lines on precious metal, stone, or mother-of-pearl. In this version, the lines radiate like rays of sunshine, creating an interplay of light with changing nuances throughout the day.
In the two rose gold versions, the Ludo Secret watch reveals a setting of pink sapphires or diamonds that gradually expand from the center. The maison’s gemologists used their expertise to compose a set of gemstones whose brightness and intensity resonate in perfect harmony. The flexible mesh of the bracelet links, also resembling a belt, is hand-assembled one by one, ensuring excellent articulation and flexibility. Continuing the tradition of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Secret watches, simultaneous pressure on the two gem-set motifs opens the cover, revealing the white guilloché mother-of-pearl dial.
