The reference 5320G-011, reinterpreted in a new version in 2022, is a sophisticated and elegant model, specially designed for fine watchmaking enthusiasts.
The perpetual calendar is the sophisticated brain of a watch, designed to handle the complexity of the gregorian calendar. With months of different lengths, leap years every four years, and even an extra day in February, the perpetual calendar complication maintains an exceptional mechanical memory of 1461 days. This means that the watch automatically adjusts all these variables, requiring only a simple manual adjustment on March 1, 2100, as that specific year will not be a leap year.
An example of balance and readability, the perpetual calendar reference 5320 was originally created in 2017, with a white gold case and a cream lacquered dial. In 2022, Patek Philippe decided to reinterpret its classic yet innovative perpetual calendar, launching a new version in white gold with a golden opaline dial in rose gold.
On the dial, numerals and indexes applied in anthracite gold contrast with luminescent material. At 12 o’clock, this model displays the day of the week and month in two rectangular windows. At 6 o’clock, the moon phase and date are shown, while two small round apertures, one for the day/night indication at 7:30 and the other for the leap year cycle at 4:30, complete the wealth of information offered by the watch.
This model beats to the rhythm of an automatic winding mechanical movement, the caliber 324SQ, visible, like all its components and finishes, through the sapphire crystal case back. Both this and other unique Patek Philippe watches are available at David Rosas.
