With a menu curated by Chef Vítor Sobral, Capítulo Restaurant & Bar stands as the newest gourmet restaurant in the capital. Boasting a five-meter high ceiling, vaulted ceilings dating back to the 17th century, and imposing columns coexisting with contemporary and elegant design by Cristina Santos Silva, this dining and leisure space exudes its own unique strength and magic.
Here, the signature cuisine celebrates portuguese gastronomy, reimagined, within the grandest hall of the ancient 13th-century Convent, where all meetings and decisions of the clergy and nobility took place.
The chef’s menu features dishes such as vegetable curry, shrimp moqueca, octopus, and roasted black pork with red wine and ginger, sautéed asparagus, potato, and turnip puree, among other delectable offerings.
Embracing the concept of sharing, Capítulo Restaurant & Bar invites patrons to indulge in either a leisurely meal or a lighter option beneath the magnificent and historic vaults, which recount eight centuries of history, or in the open air within the cozy cloister, complemented by a selection of the finest portuguese wines or signature cocktails.
Indeed, the impressive cloister that precedes it sets the stage for a memorable experience, complete with the allure of an outdoor fireplace promising to warm the evenings. These evenings now include DJ sets from Thursday to Saturday, between 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM, ensuring an ever-changing and lively ambiance.
In addition to music and portuguese dishes with a twist, patrons can savor signature cocktails as well as classics. Because Capítulo is a space that seamlessly combines both restaurant and bar experiences.
