September marks the return to routine, but it’s also the month of the most anticipated product launches in the tech industry. Apple wasted no time and unveiled its new iPhone 15. The California-based company typically introduces its new iPhone models at its usual event around this time of year before making them available for sale at the end of the month. The iPhone 15 and 15 Pro have been available since September 22nd.
Consistently, Apple continues the tradition of launching two flagship smartphones: the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. As always, these models are the brand’s flagships, and while there are some differences between them, the great news for consumers is that they are slightly more affordable than their predecessors. Let’s get to know each new feature a little better:
iPhone 15
It features a Super Retina XDR OLED display measuring 6.1 inches with an impressive resolution of 1179×2556 pixels and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. Its dimensions are 146.7 x 71.6 x 7.8 mm, with a weight of 171 grams. Equipped with the powerful Apple A16 Bionic processor (4nm), this model is available in storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. As for photography, it incorporates a dual rear camera of 48+12 MP and a 12 MP front camera. It also offers state-of-the-art connectivity, including 5G, WiFi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and emergency satellite connection.
iPhone 15 Plus
On the other hand, it boasts a larger Super Retina XDR OLED display, measuring 6.7 inches, with a resolution of 1290×2796 pixels. Its dimensions are 160.9 x 77.8 x 7.8 mm, with a weight of 201 grams.
iPhone 15 Pro
Stands out for its 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, which not only has a resolution of 1179×2556 pixels but also supports HDR10 and an impressive 120 Hz refresh rate. With dimensions of 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.3 mm and weighing 187 grams, this model is powered by the advanced Apple A17 Pro processor (3 nm). This means that within the same space as the previous five-nanometer chips, Apple can accommodate more transistors, resulting in better overall performance and greater energy efficiency. Storage options range from 128 GB to 1 TB. Additionally, new artificial intelligence features have been added to enhance photo and video quality.
iPhone 15 Pro Max
It offers similar features to the Pro model, with a 6.7-inch Super Retina display. Its dimensions are 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.3 mm, and it weighs 221 grams. This model is powered by the same Apple A17 Pro processor (3 nm) and offers storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
The iPhone 15 models maintain the same screen dimensions, but with an interesting detail: the bezels have been reduced, making the devices slightly more compact. In the Pro and Pro Max models, Apple has incorporated titanium for the first time, a material that should be more resistant, less prone to fingerprints, and with slightly rounded edges compared to last year’s models. When it comes to colors, four options are offered for these top-of-the-line models: natural titanium, titanium blue, titanium white, and titanium black.
One of the most notable changes is in the charging port. Due to regulatory pressures from the European Union, Apple has finally abandoned the Lightning port and introduced the USB-C connection in its new iPhone lineup. This is excellent news for those who want to travel with fewer cables and chargers. Additionally, Apple has introduced a new fast charging feature, allowing the battery to charge from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes.
