Patek Philippe has always been considered a benchmark in the world of travel watches. In the realm of fine watchmaking, there are two different types of watches designed for travelers: World Time models, which display different time zones simultaneously, and Travel Time models, which indicate both the local time zone and the home time zone simultaneously.
This celebrated complication from the Maison – World Time – was first introduced to the market in the 1930s and took a significant step towards functionality by being equipped with a patented mechanism that allowed for easy time adjustment with a simple push of a button.
This complication evolved over the years, and in 2011, the first model of reference 7130 was introduced, specifically designed for ladies. In 2022, the Geneva Manufacture went even further and reinterpreted its classic World Time in a new olive-green version, which is original, modern, and sophisticated all at once.
This recent model is crafted in rose gold and adorned with 62 diamonds on the bezel and 27 on the clasp. The central part of the dial, paying homage to the fine craftsmanship techniques performed at the Manufacture, is embellished with hand-executed fine guilloché decoration in the vieux panier style. Its unique green color also appears on the city disc, whose names are perfectly legible as they are printed in white. The city disc and the 24-hour disc (divided into day/night zones differentiated by colors and symbols of the Sun and Moon) allow for reading the time across 24 time zones simultaneously and continuously.
This beautiful model features an extremely slim case thanks to its extra-thin self-winding caliber 240HU movement. Both this and other Patek Philippe watches are available at David Rosas.
