The Chiron Super Sport ‘Golden Era’ is a true and personalized tribute to the incomparable moments that defined an era of Bugatti, whose aesthetics bring to life a story intertwined with time and distinction.
Told through a composition of hand-drawn sketches applied to the bodywork with entirely new techniques and processes, this ‘Golden Era’ is the culmination of artisanal craftsmanship within the Bugatti Sur Mesure customization program, which encourages collaborative creativity in the development of special vehicles tailored to each customer’s taste and imagination.
In a collaborative process with Bugatti’s design team, the passionate collector’s love for the Bugatti brand helped shape his vision into a masterpiece. Over two years, 45 intricate sketches of the brand’s timeless icons were hand-drawn for over four hundred hours, directly onto the bodywork of the Chiron Super Sport ‘Golden Era,’ whose custom gold tone, titled Doré, was specially developed and applied with a gradient color split in a special metallic variant of Nocturne Black to create an exquisite and unique contrast.
“Our customers can be incredibly creative, and we are very proud to help them make their dreams come true, but requests as highly special as this one are extremely rare – usually, we don’t see more than one or two creations of this scale per year,” notes Achim Anscheidt, former Director of Design at Bugatti now responsible for these special projects. “Given the vision and the very concrete nature of this project – and the set of fantastic ideas we wanted to bring to life – the ‘Golden Era’ is probably the most demanding customization work that my team and I have ever worked on,” he concludes.
If the exterior was time-consuming and labor-intensive, the interior was no less demanding. In various areas of the cabin, there are personalized details where one can read “Golden Era” or “One-of-One,” handwritten, affirming a special celebration of Bugatti’s legacy and confirming once again that it is a one-of-a-kind specimen in the world.
