In one year, the world will focus its attention on the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. To kick off the countdown to this historic sporting moment, Omega, the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, has launched a new watch – with a golden touch.
The Special Edition Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” was meticulously created as an exclusive tribute to the XXXIII Olympiad. This edition of the Olympic Games marks the 31st time Omega has played the vital role of Official Timekeeper, a role the brand has fulfilled since 1932.
The new 42mm watch will be exclusively available at Omega boutiques in the host city, Paris. The model is crafted in 18k Moonshine™ gold and stainless steel – Omega’s exclusive alloy of yellow gold that offers a lighter tone and high color fade resistance. As a dedicated piece to the Olympic Games, the use of gold is an essential inclusion and a reminder of the highly coveted medals that all athletes strive for. Most notably, gold is used in the watch’s bezel, which features a laser-engraved, positively raised dive scale and a single Super-LumiNova point at 12 o’clock.
The laser-engraved dial also provides a captivating visual. Made of white ceramic, it has a matte finish with polished relief waves. For the date indication at 6 o’clock, Omega skillfully used the Paris 2024 typography to inscribe the numbers in black, while the central seconds hand discreetly yet visibly displays the Paris 2024 logo.
These attributes are not the only details distinguishing this original watch. The commemorative case back displays a 18k Moonshine™ gold applied medallion with the distinctive element of the Paris 2024 emblem, polished against a laser-engraved backdrop. These elements are perfectly complemented by the stamped “Paris 2024” words and the iconic Olympic rings, which are mirrored and polished on a matte structure.
On the wrist, the watch is worn with a stainless steel bracelet featuring Omega’s new patented Quick Change system, allowing for easy swapping with another more personal bracelet – such as the Quick Change rubber strap, available in blue, white, or red, or even a NATO strap specially dedicated to Paris 2024.
In tune with the athletic excellence of the Games, this Seamaster Diver 300M is guided by the highest standards of precision and performance. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 caliber, as well as the entire watch, has been meticulously tested and certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to meet a rigorous level of quality.
The Olympic Games will only begin on July 26, 2024, but the Swiss brand, as the Official Timekeeper, is already eagerly anticipating the next exciting edition in Paris, where new and significant sporting records will undoubtedly be set.
