Opened in 2019, Vila Foz Hotel & Spa quickly established itself as one of the top destinations for sophistication and refinement. Located in a restored mansion, with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, the hotel combines classic architecture with modern facilities and excellent services, providing guests with an unforgettable experience. The palace, dating from the 19th century, is supported by a new building inspired by simple lines and carefully constructed to maintain harmony between two distinct eras. Signed by the renowned interior designer Nini Andrade Silva, the decoration respects the architectural period of the old building, giving it a bold contemporaneity and maintaining its usual high quality standards. Miguel Cardoso was responsible for the architectural project, managing to convey the connection between the sea and the abundant green of the gardens, allowing a global experience of comfort, light and nature. Consisting of 66 rooms and suites, seven located in the palace, with a predominantly nineteenth-century decoration, but with a contemporary touch, transmitted by the green, gold and brown tones, the hotel features spacious rooms overlooking the sea that kisses the mouth of the Douro or the green gardens that surround the mansion. The remaining 59 rooms can be found in the new building distinguished by the luminosity of beige and gold, as an invitation to the intense blue of the ocean that peeks through the windows.

Arnaldo Azevedo’s talent, passion for gastronomy and exceptional culinary skills have been the driving force behind the restaurant’s success.
The strength and boldness of the North sea also characterize the chef’s cuisine, which privileges the flavors of the ocean in his proposals. Fish and seafood are the products that he likes to work with the most and are abundant in the menu. The creativity is great, but so is the focus, both leading to the first Michelin star chef Arnaldo Azevedo and his team earned in Vila Foz restaurant.
Their proposals can be tasted through two menus: Maresia (sea breeze), which offers an experience marked by the freshness and authentic flavor of fish and seafood from the Portuguese coast; and Novo Mundo (New World), a completely vegetarian menu that provides a journey of rediscovery of the best that the land gives us. Both Maresia and Novo Mundo can be paired with a careful selection of six wines, designed to elevate the sensations of the palate, provided by the creativity of chef Arnaldo Azevedo. In addition to Vila Foz restaurant, the palace, located in one of the noblest areas of the city of Porto, also offers gastronomic suggestions from the menu of Flor de Lis restaurant, which is distinguished by its spacious terrace and timeless design of simple and modern lines. The meticulously prepared seasonal menus allow you to taste some of the most traditional dishes of our gastronomy, always with the creative touch of chef Arnaldo Azevedo. When visiting Flor de Lis, it is possible to choose the lunch menu, during the week, composed of two or three dishes, or ask for one of the various suggestions of the Flor de Lis Menu.
If you prefer cocktails, Vila Foz Bar has original proposals for moments of relaxation. With two areas, indoor and outdoor, Vila Foz Bar has a sober and vintage ambiance, with its sofas and armchairs in warm tones, in contrast to the freshness of the exterior, which opens to the blue sea, always illuminated, either by sunlight or stars.
